It is with great pleasure to announce that Leilani Alejo from Memorial High School has been accepted to the 2021 NASA/UT Austin Summer Intern Program. She will be joined by a selected group of students from all over the world in the METEORITES Project. Students will be exposed to Earth and space research. Interns will learn how to interpret NASA satellite data while working with scientists and engineers.
Leilani was accepted to the SEA-PHAGES (Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science) at STC last year and has actively participated in this virus research program.
Leilani is very grateful to all staff members at Memorial High School. She brought her love for science and at Memorial, this love was expanded and her interest was raised to the next level.
